Montecristo Espada Ricasso – 5 Pen Box

Montecristo Espada Ricasso closedThe Montecristo Espada line of boxes is very popular.  Available in several different sizes, they all feature a distressed suede lid with a Spanish sword theme.  These are well made boxes with a magnetic lid closure.

To adapt these boxes to hold pens, I address the unfinished interior wood first by sanding, then smoothing with 0000 steel wool.  Following that, I stain the wood with Minwax “Gunstock” stain which matches the colors of the box very well, then varnish the stained surfaces with Minwax polyurethane varnish – hand rubbed.

I attach a 2mm thick foam pad to the bottom of the box so that it won’t shift easily nor mar your desk or table surfaces.

Once that is done, I fit a flocked velour pen tray into the box to hold your pens safely and securely, not touching anything other than the tray.

The “Ricasso” is the smallest size in the Espada line.  It will hold five pens, each up to 8 inches long.  The box measures 9 1/2 inches x 6 1/4 inches x 1 1/2 inches.

This particular box is fitted with a beige pen tray, but if you prefer another color, I have identical boxes available with red, green, burgundy, or black trays at this same price.

NOTE: No more of these boxes are available until after Christmas.

The Montecristo Espada Ricassa 5 Pen Box is priced at $35 plus mailing.  If you are interested, please email me at BamaPen@jehubbard.com and include your location or ZIP Code so that I can provide a mailing cost quote.

I accept payment by PayPal or if you prefer I can email an invoice which you can pay with a credit or debit card.
