This Cuba Rica box is number 399 of a 500 piece limited edition, so you really aren’t likely to see another one like it. Unlike most of my boxes, this one has a lift-off lid. It is uncommonly thin, just one inch, and is finished in satin black with a dark red logo on the lid.
Inside I have blackened all the surfaces, which were originally just unfinished wood, to maintain the satin black elegance. I chose a red pen tray to carry the red of the logo to the inside.
The pen tray has nine velour-flocked individual slots, each holding a pen up to 6 1/4 inches long.
The box measures 10 inches by 7 1/2 inches by just one inch, and I’ve added 2mm foam pads on the bottom (black, of course).
