This five pen box is unusual in several respects: First, it has a markedly horizontal feel because it is considerably wider than it is deep. Second, the lid splits in the center, opening toward the sides. Third, the finish is composed of a deep blue background with silver and copper marbling overlaid on it for a distinctly three-dimensional depth. Some would even say steampunk. I say steampunk light!
Inside, the design continues the steampunk light look. The insides of the lids and the surrounding edge of the box are stained ebony, and the entire pen compartment is lined with a soft silver/grey leather-look material.
The pen compartment can be set up in two different ways, with the choice going to the purchaser.
I can install the pen tray toward the left hand end of the box and insert a divider toward the right hand end, creating two separate spaces, one for pens and the other a compartment for small “stuff” such as ink cartridges, paper clips, or other such. The pictures show the divider in place with a six inch pen compartment, but the divider is adjustable, so could be moved in either direction.
Alternately, the pen tray can be centered in the box and the divider omitted altogether.
The pictures show both arrangements and the purchaser can choose.
